Tubrya

This policy explains what information the YouTube™ to Text - Tubrya browser extension and the website tubrya.app (together, "Tubrya", "we", "us") collect, why, and what control you have over it.

Summary

  • Transcripts, downloads and your library work without an account and stay on your computer.
  • If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address and Google account ID.
  • When you ask for a summary or ask a question, the video's transcript and your question are sent to our server and to Google's Gemini AI to write the answer. We don't store that content.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads, or track what you watch.

What we collect

Information that stays on your computer

The extension saves your settings (such as language and summary style) and your library (transcripts, summaries and chats of videos you opened) in your browser's local storage. This data is not sent to us. You can delete items from the library, and removing the extension deletes all of it.

Information you give us when you sign in

Signing in is optional and only needed for AI summaries and questions. When you sign in with Google, we receive:

  • your name,
  • your email address,
  • your Google account ID.

We don't request access to your Gmail, Drive, YouTube account, contacts or any other Google data.

Information created when you use AI features

  • Content you send: the transcript of the video, its title, and your question or chosen summary type. This is processed to write the answer and is not stored on our server after the answer is sent.
  • Usage counts: how many AI uses you made each day, so we can apply the daily allowance.
  • Technical logs: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may briefly keep standard request logs such as IP address and time, for security and to fix errors.

Payment information

If you buy Pro, Lemon Squeezy processes the payment as our reseller. We receive your subscription status, plan, renewal date and the email address used to pay. We never receive your card number.

Feedback when you remove the extension

When you remove the extension, Chrome opens a short page on tubrya.app asking why. If you answer, we store the reason you chose, your optional message and optional email address, the extension version and interface language. To prevent spam we also store a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself. Answers are kept for up to 12 months.

How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep you signed in.
  • To write summaries and answers that you request.
  • To apply the free daily allowance and Pro limits.
  • To manage your subscription and answer support requests.
  • To protect the service from abuse and fix problems.

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it or give it to data brokers.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Tubrya:

Google user data

Tubrya's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use your Google name and email only to provide and improve the sign-in and account features you see in Tubrya. We don't use it for advertising, we don't let humans read it except for support you ask for, security or legal reasons, and we don't transfer it to others except as described above.

The extension also complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Turkey's KVKK), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

You can stop using the AI features at any time by signing out in Settings, and you can remove Google's access to Tubrya at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Children

Tubrya is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in sessions use signed tokens, and secret keys are stored only on our server.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes we'll show a notice in the extension.
